Sea Gate Jews in Refugge Aid Work

Dr. Leon S. Kaiser, chairman of the Ocean Front division of the American Palestine campaign, presided at a meeting of Sea Gate Jewish leader at the home of Dr. Herman Ausuble, 4211 Highland avenue, Sea Gate.

Declaring that “never before in modern times have the Jewish people been faced with so grave a threat to their exsitence,” Dr. Kaiser stressed the urgent Jewry suffering “medieval persecution and oppression.”

At the meeting definite measures for joining in the nationwide campaign to bring immediate relief to the Jewish citims of Hitlerism by settlement in Palestine were adopted. Officers elected to head the local campaign were Rabbi Israel Elfenbein, honorary chairman, Dr. Herman Ausuble, chairman, Frank Andron and Jack Greenberg, co-chairmen, David Tannenbaum, treasure and Robert August, secretary.
