Two New York State legislators instituted proceedings today to prohibit the activities in the state of George Lincoln Rockwell’s American Nazi Party. State Senator Frank Pino and Assemblyman Irwin Brownstein, moved for a permanent injunction restraining the Nazi group from ever using the name “American Nazi Party” or the swastika emblem or from engaging in any activities in New York State.

A hearing on an application for a temporary injunction against the Rockwell organization will be held tomorrow morning by Justice Louis Friedman in Kings County Supreme Court.

Harry Lipsig, attorney for the Public Awareness Society, said today his group would press for a permanent injunction later this year restraining any city official from issuing a permit for a rally to Rockwell or any other hatemonger.
