The Senate Armed Services Committee today confirmed the appointment of Solis Horwitz, 53, as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Administration, a newly created post.
Mr. Horwitz, who is of the Jewish faith, is originally from Pittsburgh, Pa. He worked with President Lyndon Johnson when Mr. Johnson was Senate Majority Leader and chairman of the Senate Preparedness Subcommittee.
