Senator Barkley Telis UJA Conference U.S. Stands Pat on Immicration of 100,000

Declaring that ” the American Government stands behind the request to admit 100,000 displaced Jews to Palestins without delay,” Senate Majority Leader Alben W. Barkley today warned more than 250 delegates to an extraordinary Eastern Ohio Conference of the U.J.A. that the plight of European Jewry is growing more aoute daily. Sen. Barkley recently returned from a tour of Europe, where, he said, he found “the overwhelming majority of the Jewish survivors of Nazism” want to emigrate to Palestine.
