SENATOR ALLESSANDRO LUSTIG, FAMOUS ITALIAN JEWISH PATHOLOGIST AND BACTERIOLOGIST, DIED HERE TODAY AT THE AGE OF 80.
AFTER THE WAR, SENATOR LUSTIG JOINED FLORENCE UNIVERSITY AS PROFESSOR OF PATHOLOGY. AT THE SAME TIME HE WAS NAMED PRESIDENT OF THE INSTITUTE TO FIGHT CANCER. HE HELD AN HONORARY PROFESSORSHIP IN THE UNIVERSITY OF BUENOS AIRES. SENATOR LUSTIG WAS BORN INTO A JEWISH FAMILY IN TRIESTE.
