Senator Reed of Pennsylvania, introduced a bill to amend the immigration law to enable aliens to enter as non-quota immigrants if they are qualified and have contracts to teach in a college, academy, seminary or university. The provision would also admit their wives and unmarried children under eighteen. The present immigration law exempts from the quota only professors who have served as such abroad for at least two years. The amendment would remove this requirement.
