A settlement with an educational and sports center will be established by the Maccabi World Union near Modi’in, the ancient site of the Maccabeans, it was announced at the meeting of the executive of the World Maccabi Union currently meeting here. The new center will be located on an 800 dunam plot along the old road to Jerusalem.
It will include a school for young leadership training, a youth hostel and dormitories to house 400 visitors from abroad in addition to 120 housing unit for permanent settlers. There will be a modern sports complex. The village will serve as the urban center for nine agricultural settlements in the area.
