Shlomo Rivlin, Father of Israel Consul in New York, Dies in Jerusalem

Funeral services were held today for the noted Jerusalem cantor, Shlomo Rivlin, father of David Rivlin, Israeli Consul in New York. He died at the age of 78.

A fifth generation Jerusalemite, Cantor Rivlin devoted his life to the study and teaching of cantorial music. More than 50 years ago, he founded the Shirat Yisroel Institute, which has trained hundreds of cantors. BECAUSE OF PASSOVER THERE WILL BE NO ‘COMMUNITY REPORTER’ THIS THURSDAY
