Simon Bieber, well-known leader of the Jewish community here, died at the age of 63. A devoted Zionist, he was for many years the treasurer of the Keren Hayesod in Brussels and a member of the Poale Zion Committee, which he represented at the 26th Zionist Congress in Jerusalem. Active in various local Jewish associations, he was a member of the board of the Centre des Jeunes, the Brussels Community Center.
