Slovakia’s prime minister condemned an archbishop who praised a fascist wartime leader. Robert Fico issued his statement after Jan Sokol, archbishop of Bratislava, told a local television station that Josef Tiso’s rule was a time of well-being without mentioning the president’s persecution of minorities.
