Mefleget Hasmol Hasotzialisti–the Left Socialist Party–was officially established here last night by Dr. Moshe Snehand his supporters who recently broke away from the Mapam Party.
Dr. Sneh, in an address to the founding meeting, declared that the new party would remain outside the world Zionist movement and that it would dedicate itself to changing the government of Israel and establishing a Socialist republic. Dr. Sneh also announced that his party would work in close cooperation with the Israeli Communist Party, which was represented at the meeting by several official observers.
