Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Dreyfoos gave a beefsteak dinner at the Hollywood Golf Club last Saturday night. About fifty guests attended. The room was very attractively arranged, with red and white checked table cloths, posters, and beer kegs for tables. A dance orchestra played during dinner, and afterwards. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hilson, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nathan, Mrs. Sophie Untermeyer, Donald Klopfer, and Edward Rosner.
A supper dance for the benefit of Camp Rainbow is being given on Saturday, June 30th, at the Sunningdale Country Club. Mrs. Goodman Richard Davis is president of the Board of Directors, and Mrs. Edgar I. Levy is chairman of the Dance Committee. Among the young members on the committee are the Misses Doris Asiel, Florence Baerwald, Helen Goldsmith, Joy Hoffheimer, Peggy Milhauser, Mary Regensburg, Catherine Strassburger, Isabel Teffenthal, and the Messrs. Richard W. Dammann, John L. Freeman, Frank S. Hess, Robert Lansburgh, John A. Sherman, Sidney Sternbach Jr., Stephen J. Stroock, and William L. Walter.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Rossin have taken a house in Darien, Conn., for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerome A. Eisner have taken a summer home in Westchester.
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Kaufman gave a cocktail party at their home in Mamaroneck last Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Charles S. Untermeyer of the Ritz Towers, and her daughter. Miss Margery Untermeyer, are planning a trip around the world this summer.
A dinner dance will be held this evening at the Sunningdale Counry Club. A large group is expected to attend.
Miss Jean Bijur, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan I. Bijur, has recently returned from Vienna where she spent the winter studying art. She has always devoted her time to the study of art, her interest ranging from poster printing to portrait painting, from the history and appreciation, to the practical mechanics of every type of drawing and painting.
Among the interesting pieces of work which she found time to do while abroad was a series of water color sketches of Hungarian Peasant costumes. She recently aided in the arrangement of the very successful “Viennese Night” which was held at the Ethical Culture School.
