Some 4,000 participants in a program that aims to give young Jewish adults a free, first-time trip to Israel cheered the philanthropists who are funding the program. Michael Steinhardt, who created the program along with Charles Bronfman, told the mostly unaffiliated Jews at a ceremony in Jerusalem to rise to the task of “renewing Judaism.”
