Some artworks depicting the Holocaust banned during the Soviet era went on display in Ukraine. The Judaic Institute opened the exhibit, “Between Borders of Understanding: The Catastrophe of the European Jews Through Artists’ Eyes” at the Museum of Cultural Heritage in Kiev on May 16. Co-sponsored by the Jewish Agency for Israel, the exhibition features the works of several artists whose depictions of the Holocaust were suppressed during Soviet times.
