President Mikhail Kalinin has telegraphed “warm greeting to the workers, peasants and intellectuals of the Jewish autonomous region” of Biro-Bidjan on the tenth anniversary of the beginning of settlement there. He said: “The working masses of the Jewish region have achieved great success in the economic and cultural development of the region and the exploitation of its natural wealth,” adding that he hoped for still greater results.
