Storms Plague Israel for Seventh Day; Estimated $1.57 Million Crop Damage

Bain hailstorms and unseasonably low temperature plagued Israel today for the seventh consecutive day. A Ministry of Agriculture spokesman placed crop damage at $1.57 million, sustained mainly by vegetables and fruits. In the hills of Galilee the temperature dropped below the freezing mark during the past two nights. Overcoats are in evidence on the streets, Roads all over the country have been flooded or blocked by uprooted trees and downed telephone poles.
