Syria has reimposed the internal travel restrictions on the Jewish community, according to the Committee for the Rescue of Syrian Jewry. In a telegram to President Carter, Abe Dwok, president of the Committee, said “We urge you to call on President Assad to respect Syria’s obligation under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and to grant the Jewish minority equal treatment, including freedom of movement within the country and their right to emigrate.”
