Syrian and Lebanese businessmen reportedly told representatives from the Peres Center for Peace that tourism offers the best prospects for economic cooperation with Israel, according to the president of the center, Knesset member Uri Savir. The Israeli daily Ha’aretz added that the Peres Center is trying to ascertain whether Syria would be open to planning joint tourism activities prior to the signing of a peace accord.
