Syrian Premier Says Palestine Issue Must Be Settled by Force

There can be no settlement of the Palestine question except by force, Syrian Premier el Khoury declared in an interview with a correspondent of the Times of London, which was published here today.

The Premier added that another round of warfare in Palestine might be inevitable before the problem was settled. He felt either the Western Powers, the United Nations or the Arabs would have to use force to bring Israel to a “state of reasonableness.” He charged that the West had combined to deprive Syria of a large part of her historic territory in Palestine.
