Syrian Premier Threatens ‘liberation War’ for ‘palestine’ Recovery

Syria’s Prime Minister Youssef Zayyen has announced in Damascus that his Government’s military forces are being increased, declaring that only a “war of liberation” against Israel can lead to Arab “recovery of Palestine,” according to press dispatches received here today.

Another report, from Cairo, quoted the commander of the Egyptian land forces, at an Army Day rally, as saying that Egypt has troops in the Sinai Peninsula, “looking forward to their mission to destroy Israel.” The military leader, Gen. Abdel Mortaga, said his troops were equipped with “secret weapons” as well as with the latest types of amphibious tanks, capable of operating under all conditions.
