Syrian President Bashar Assad said there is no point in meeting Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon since there is no sign Israel wants peace. “When we want to meet with someone, it must be for a purpose,” Assad said during a visit to Spain, his first to a Western nation since taking power after his father’s death last year.
