The architect of Berlin’s Holocaust memorial apologized for an offhand remark about the company that manufactured the gas used in concentration camps. At the last meeting of the memorial’s board of trustees, Peter Eisenman reportedly said his New York dentist had asked him in reference to his gold fillings, “Do you know that you have Degussa in your mouth?”
