The authors of a controversial book on the power of the pro-Israel lobby in Washington are visiting Israel.
John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, whose book “The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy” drew charges of anti-Semitism when it was published last year, will hold a press conference in Tel Aviv on Thursday.
Mearsheimer and Walt, professors from the University of Chicago and Harvard University respectively, are the guests of Gush Shalom, a far-left Israeli peace group.
Gush Shalom said the American academics are in Israel to discuss whether AIPAC and other pro-Israel lobbies do, in fact, best serve Israel’s needs.
