The Chabad community in Vilnius led a procession through the center of town celebrating the donation of a Torah. The scroll, worth about $30,000, was a gift of the Safra Foundation. After a brief ceremony Monday in the Lithuanian capital attended by a dozen diplomats and Lithuanian officials, more than 100 Jews carrying balloons and torches marched through town, passing the Torah and dancing to the tunes of a band while locals observed from the street.
