The chairmen of the Republican and Democratic parties emphasized the need to do more to end the genocide in Sudan. In separate speeches before the Jewish Council for Public Affairs on Tuesday, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, Ken Mehlman, called for a U.N. peacekeeping mission in Sudan, while his Democratic counterpart, Howard Dean, commended JCPA leaders for urging the Bush administration to do more to stop the government-sponsored massacres.
