The committee seeking to resolve the crisis over religious pluralism in Israel met in a bid to iron out final differences over a compromise acceptable to the Orthodox, Conservative and Reform movements. News reports indicated that the members of the Ne’eman committee were still haggling over the language of the declaration on conversion — casting fresh doubts over whether the committee would meet a Jan. 31 deadline to submit its proposals.
