The economic crisis seems to have its affect as less Israelis are going abroad. Some 42,000 Israelis left Israel in May, a drop of 22 percent compared to the same period last year. This drop was recorded even before the doubling of the travel tax to $300, at the end of May. It is likely that the statistics of this month will show an even larger drop.
