The European Union is protesting Israeli raids on Palestinian banks. Irish Foreign Minister Brian Cowen conveyed E.U. displeasure over the raids to Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom in a meeting in Ireland over the weekend. Israeli officials said last week’s raids in the West Bank came in response to intelligence warnings that the banks were funding terrorist activity.
