The expansion of the work of the Zionist movement on the grass-roots level in the American Jewish community will be a major point of discussion at the second annual convention of the American Zionist Federation, Oct. 21-23 in Chicago. Rabbi Israel Miller, AZF president, said that special commissions will meet to examine ways in which its work in the Jewish community can be enhanced through “an effective and meaningful program of action for the coming years.” Three top Israeli leaders will be among the officials and personalities in the World Zionist Movement who will address the convention. The Israeli leaders are Louis A. Pincus, chairman of the World Zionist Organization and of the Jewish Agency; Itzhak Navon, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset and chairman of the World Zionist General Council; and Avraham Schenker, head of the WZO’s Department of Organization and Information.
