The French Jewish philosopher Jacques Derrida died in Paris last Friday at 74. One of the leading French intellectuals of the post-war period, Derrida was the father of deconstructionism, a controversial system of analysis designed to dismantle language and reveal biases and false assumptions hidden within it.
