The Israeli Embassy building here has been placed on the market with an asking price of 1,600,000 cruzeiros (approximately $250,000). Hannan Olami, first secretary of the Embassy, said a new Embassy building will be built in Brazil’s capital city, Brasilia. A building has been rented in the Copacabana section of Rio to house Israel’s Consulate and Public Relations Department. The Embassy building here was the gift of the local Jewish community to Israel 18 years ago.
