The Jewish and general communities were shocked at the anti-Semitic statements made by Msgr. Antonio Plaza in criticism of the Alfonsin government. He said “the government is full of Jews” who “made us squander three years’ discussion of those issues (human rights) and mistreating the people.” Meanwhile in Austria, seven of every 100 people polled declared they were anti-Semites.
