The Jewish community of Odessa, Ukraine, recently launched a plan to create a memorial to 240,000 Jews who died in the region during the Holocaust. City officials in Odessa allocated a plot of land to house the memorial, which will also commemorate non-Jews who worked to save Jews during World War II.
