The Labor Party decided to leave Israel’s unity government after efforts to reach a compromise on Israel’s 2003 budget failed. Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer submitted his resignation after negotiations to resolve the budget dispute ended Wednesday in a shouting match with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, according to the Israeli daily Ha’aretz.
