The memory of the Holocaust should be preserved in Russia, the country’s foreign minister said. Speaking Thursday evening in Moscow at a gathering of Jewish activists, World War II veterans, students and educators to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Sergei Lavrov said, “This tragedy should never vanish from our memory, nor should we forget those Soviet soldiers who died while liberating Nazi camps.”
