The most ambitious Zionist demonstration ever staged in Europe will take place in London on Sunday, May 7 to mark Israel’s 30th Independence Day. Some 60,000 people are expected to take part in a 12-hour program to be staged at the Earls Court Exhibition Center. It will contain variety shows, displays and exhibitions, reflecting many aspects of Israel’s history, economy and cultural life.
Moshe Dayan, Israel’s Foreign Minister, will open the spectacle at a ceremony involving more than 8000 youngsters from all over Britain. Hanna Meron, Esther Ofarim, Mike Burstein and several other Israeli and British show-business personalities will take part. The event is being held under the aegis of the Solidarity-With-Israel Conference. The principal organizer is Harry Arvay, author of several thriller books featuring the Israeli secret service.
