The National Council of Jewish Women opposed the nomination of a judge to the U.S. Court of Appeals in the District of Columbia. The Senate judiciary committee approved President Bush’s nomination of Brett Kavanagh on party lines on May 11, and it now goes to the full Senate. NCJW said Kavanagh’s work on behalf of Republicans made him too partisan and it also cited his support for school prayer.
