The Palestinian Authority said Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s policies were to blame for the suicide bombing in the heart of Jerusalem. The Palestinian leadership holds “Sharon fully responsible for what happened,” Palestinian Information Minister Yasser Abed Rabbo told Reuters shortly after the deadly attack occurred. “The assassinations, the killings and terrorism that he practiced and escalated in recent weeks led to this result.”
