The Palestinian Authority’s security chief is meeting with Hamas and Islamic Jihad officials, reportedly ro persuade them to halt shooting and bombing attacks in Israel. Thursday’s meeting in the Gaza Strip involving Gen. Abdel Razek Yehiyeh was a renewed attempt at persuading the groups to end attacks on civilians inside Israel. Recent meetings toward that goal failed.
