The Pearl family menorah will be lit at the White House Chanukah reception.
A Dec. 10 reception at the White House will honor Judea and Ruth Pearl, parents of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was murdered by terrorists in Pakistan.
Pearl’s last words, captured on videotape before his kidnappers killed him, were “I am Jewish.”
His parents have edited a National Jewish Book Award-winning book, “I Am Jewish: Personal Reflections Inspired by the Last Words of Daniel Pearl,” a collection culled from 147 Jews from 12 countries.
