The Reform movement praised lawmakers for passing the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act. The U.S. House of Representatives passed the measure Wednesday, imposing sanctions against individuals responsible for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity in Sudan. The legislation also supports the protection of civilians and humanitarian operations, and peace efforts in the region. The Senate already passed the bill in November.
