The sum of $25,000,000 has been raised in the thirteen years which elapsed since the establishment of the Palestine Foundation Fund on April 1, 1921, it was announced yesterday by Morris Rothenberg, president of the Zionist Organization of America.
News that the mark has been reached was cabled to Mr. Rothenberg from Jerusalem. The fund is used for Palestine reconstruction by the Jewish Agency. The Keren Hayesod (Hebrew term for the fund) has made possible to settlement of colonists, health and sanitation services, education, and communal enterprises.
“What has been accomplished thus far in Palestine,” Mr. Rothenberg declared, “with the $25,000,000 that has been contributed through the Keren Hayesod has paved the way for the work of settling German Jewish refugees now going on. Palestine’s resources are not static but dynamic, responding to the energy that is circulated by increasing Jewish immigration.”
