The U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation that would bar courts from awarding attorney’s fees when they win state-church cases. The Public Expression of Religion Act, sponsored by Rep. John Hostettler (R-Ind.) and passed Tuesday 244-173, mostly on party lines, was opposed by a broad array of Jewish groups.
