The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed resolutions commending Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon. The resolutions also recognize Israel’s right to defend itself from cross-border attacks and call for the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Lebanese soil — a reference to the 30,000 troops Syria still maintains in Lebanon.
