The World Council of Churches policy-making committee said Thursday that Israel’s declaration that Jerusalem, forever united, as the capital of Israel jeopardizes world peace. The committee called on the Council’s 290-member churches to exert pressure through their governments for Israel, to withhold all action on Jerusalem.
