The flash floods which swept down on parts of the Negev Tuesday night did not cause any serious damage at the Timnah copper mines, officials reported today.

While several deep quarries of the copper mine were flooded, the main mine was not affected, and work continued today. The pipeline which brings water for purification of copper was damaged.

Damage was reported substantial in the farming village of Yotvata in the Negev, particularly in fields and in poultry sheds.
