Members of the Congregation Shaari Telfilah of Kings Highway will observe the Holy Days in the congregation’s partly completed $100,000 three-story building at Quentin road and West First street, Brooklyn, according to Samuel Brevda, president. He said preparations were being made to hold services on the first floor.
When completed the synagogue will have a seating capacity of 1,500. Provisions also are being made for a modern Talmud Torah for primary and high school classes and a community center.
Officers of the congregation are: Samuel Brevda, president; Harry Fox, vice president; building committee, Rubin Fishman, chairman; Morris Pessin, vice chairman; Harry Fogel, treasurer; Peter Edrich, financial secretary, and Abraham Horowitz, recording secretary.
Other committee members include: Henry Altman, Sam Novick, Abraham Lowitz, David Maurer, Charles Mallenbaum, Max Feigenbaum, Abraham Beiserman, Benjamin Gerstman, Sam Lichnoff, Abraham Kirsch, Saul Schwartz, Nathan Apoteker, David Klein and Lester Rotman. Ladies auxiliary: Mrs. Fox, president; Mrs. Berkowitz, vice president, and Mrs. Bloch, treasurer.
