Top U.S. policy-makers attended an Israeli Embassy commemoration of former ambassador Simcha Dinitz. As Israel’s ambassador to the United States in 1973, Dinitz played a crucial role in persuading President Nixon to arrange the arms lift to Israel during the Yom Kippur War. He was memorialized in Washington on Tuesday.
