The attitude of Turkey towards Israel was outlined here by President Calal Bayar in a report presented to the Parliament on Turkey’s hasis policies. This was President Bayar’s first major policy speech to the Turkish Parliament since assuming office in May, 1950.
“Our normal relations with the state of Israel are in process of development,” he reported. “We have exchanged ministers with Israel, and have also signed a commercial agreement. As a member of the Palestine Conciliation Commission, we are continuing our efforts to arrive at a solution of the intricate problems between the disputing parties that will be satisfactory for all concerned.”
