Two Israelis Win Jewish Congress Awards for History Texts

The World Jewish Congress’ Cultural Department announced today hat two Jewish scholars, Moshe Catane and Dr. Shimshon Leib Kirshenbaum, both Israeli residents, are the winners of its international competition for new textbooks on recent Jewish history. Mr. Catane won a prize of $750, and Dr. Kirshenbaum won $500 in the contest for new history texts which was originally announced in 1949.
